JANUARY 5th
The Three Kings - Procession and distribution of presents to the children.
EASTER - Throughout Spain the week of Easter (Semana Santa) is celebrated with somber religious processions, usually entailing an effigy of Jesus on the Cross being carried through the streets followed by mourners wearing black and carrying candles. Spaniards of all ages take part and one cannot help being struck by the sense of community and dedication to tradition that the celebrations reflect.
Monday following Easter in La Nucia
Fiesta of San Vicente Ferrer with a pilgrimage from the town to the hermitage at el Captivador.
August 15th - 18th La Nucia
Each town has its Patron Saint and a fiesta is held in their honour which usually last one week. During this time the towns commercial activity virtually shuts down as celebrations go on practically 24 hours a day. Festivities include processions, dancing in the streets, live music, sporting events and firework displays.

Fiesta in honor of the Virgen de la Asuncion y San Roque.
October dates vary Polop
Fiesta of the Patron Saint of Polop Saint Francis of Asisi - see above.
November dates vary normally third weekend
Fiestas of San Rafae,l protector of travellers and navigators held in La Nucia. Includes pilgrimage and procession with the Saint carried on a platform.
